Duckworth’s Grill and Taphouse is now open in Huntersville. Duckworth’s is located at 16609 Statesville Road in Huntersville; between Zaxby’x and I-77 in the old O’Charleys restaurant. My family had dinner at Duckworth’s on Friday night. We had the homemade chips for an appetizer, Sandy had the Philly cheesesteak supreme, I had the ribeye and our son had the cheese quesadilla. The food was great, the prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. Duckworth’s also features an extensive craft beer selection. Diners are given an iPad to view the beer and wine list and find out more information on the drinks. Duckworth’s also has locations in Mooresville, Park Road in Charlotte and Ballantyne in Charlotte.
Keller Williams Lake Norman RED Day 2013
RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving our local communities. Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve. RED Day initiatives run the gamut: from rebuilding homes, refurbishing local parks, giving to local food shelters, and much more. Projects are chosen by each individual market center based on a need they see within its community.
Our Lake Norman market center spent RED Day volunteering at the Hope House in Huntersville. We spent the day building and painting shelves, re-organizing the children’s playroom, cleaning, and doing yard work.
Hope House provides a comfortable environment and support services for single unaccompanied women or women with children experiencing “situational” homelessness. Neither a battered women’s shelter nor a substance abuse recovery center, Hope House is simply a place for our residents to call “home” for up to six months as they get back on their feet. For more information on Hope House visit http://www.hopehousefoundation.org or contact the Program Director, Val Daye at (704) 992-1902 or valforhopehouse@aol.com.
