Cornelius Real Estate Analysis for December 2013 – There were 38 single-family homes sold in Cornelius in December. The average sales price of the homes sold was $461,206 and the average days on market was 110. When compared to Cornelius real estate sales last December the number of sales is down 13.6 percent, the sales price is up 20.11 percent and the days on market is up 14.58 percent. Following are the December 2012 Cornelius real estate statistics: 44 single-family homes sold, average sales price was $383,964 and average days on market was 96.

The Peninsula Real EstateThe Peninsula was the best selling neighborhood in Cornelius in December with 6 sales. The average sales price of the homes sold in The Peninsula in December was $817,467 and the average days on market was 195. The Peninsula is one of Lake Norman’s premier luxury communities, sprawling along 11 miles of Lake Norman shoreline. Amenities include a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Rees Jones, a 35,000 square foot clubhouse, a Yacht Club, a swim and tennis complex, exercise and aerobics studio, and multiple dining facilities. Entrees are served a la carte and menu items change seasonally due to buying locally from farms. They focus on a daily menu filled with creative small plates. Robbins Park in Cornelius to Get Fishing Piers, Volleyball Court and More

Robbins Park Cornelius Phase 2Work on phase two of Robbins Park will begin this fall. Phase two will include a connector trail from the Westmoreland Athletic Complex to Robbins Park, picnic areas, fishing piers on the two ponds, a volleyball court and gaga pit. A gaga pit is an enclosed dodge ball pit constructed of wood in the shape of a circle. NC Wildlife Resources are donating two piers as well as stocking the ponds with fish.

Port City Club to Open August 1 in Cornelius

Lake Norman restauranteur Nick Lyssikatos announced today that he plans to open a waterfront dining and meeting place in August in the former Midtown Sundries-Harborside. Port City Club will be the second lakeside eatery on the south end of Lake Norman; The Rusty Rudder is the other.

The restaurant will have 320 seats indoors and 150 outside. Port City Club will also have space for up to three large meetings at once. Diners can arrive by car or by boat. Port City Club is planning to develop a website so boaters can order from the water.

Lyssikatos said 98 percent of the the food will be freshly made, with dishes ranging from oysters and King Crab to flatbread pizza.
