M/I Homes to Build New Community in Huntersville
M/I Homes plans to build 99 homes in Bellington, a 41-acre subdivision on Huntersville-Concord Road in Huntersville. The community is located east of I-77 at Exit 23, close to Discovery Place KIDS. Homes are estimated to start around $250,000 and construction is expected to begin late this year.
Homes will range from 2,019 to 3,500 square feet and will feature M/I’s traditional and cottage collection of plans with ranch and two story homes available. Homes are expected to have exteriors of HardiePlank siding with stone and brick accents, front porches and covered lanais.
“The community streets will be lined with trees,” says Tamara Lynch, M/I Homes of Charlotte vice president of sales and marketing. “Many of the home sites back up to green areas. There will be plenty of common open space for homebuyers to enjoy.”

Davidson and Concord Main Streets Named ‘Great Places’ in NC
Main Street in Davidson and Union Street in Concord were recognized among North Carolina’s top downtowns by the NC chapter of the American Planning Association (APA-NC). Online voters selected “People’s Choice: Great Main Streets” and “People’s Choice: Great Neighborhoods for Kids.” Expert panelists selected five “Great Main Streets” in the mountains, Piedmont, and coast and one “Great Place in the Making.”
Concord’s Union Street competed with widely recognized main streets in Chapel Hill and Wilmington for the “People’s Choice: Great Main Streets” award.
